#10 Something Old Something New

Who doesn't love shopping? Especially for free!!

This was one of my favorite group projects ever. I really enjoyed our brainstorming session with Ty and Jaehee. Basically this was a gift from us to you, and not so much your parents.

Yes, thrift shopping is the best way to shop at the moment but even for a couple of bucks you can get vintage, probably worn out clothes from your parents closets. We will guide you how to style these garments and stay in tune for some twerking moments.

#9 Fashion Communication

It has become incredibly important for brands to reach out to their customers and it's getting very competitive out there. 

One of the many creative ways is to add a Buy It button on your feed. Instagram, Pinterest and 

FaceBook ,just to name a few, have jumped on this bandwagon.  I personally have not shopped on 

any of these platforms but I have clicked and traveled to the brands website because of something 

that I had seen on my Instagram feed.

I don't know why but I always feel like I'm being scammed whenever I see these ads pop on FB.

In conclusionnn, the most attractive way to shop for me at this moment, like-the-broke-college- student that I am.....Is Instagram, YES! I am biased and fake, because I am on Instagram all day long but it does seem like the easiest/fastest way to shop.

#8 Lookbook: Club Monaco

I am totally biased because I love Club Monaco, but their latest Lookbook really is something. 

Throughout the looks there's this fresh and cool vibe. Blue seems to be the dominant color if not, its the one that I'm looking at so...

#7 Trunk Shows

Trunk Shows seems to be the most anticipated wave of shopping.

What I think of when, I hear someone mention Trunk Shows

Although it was a practical way of selling your clothes back in the 1800's nowadays the Trunk Show phenomenon seems to be a way of promoting your brand by selling to your most elite customers.

Well, it depends on what ur niche is.

High end designers and stores will have a fancy trunk show and bring in a celebrity guest and have giveaways and all that fun stuff, whereas within the  bridal industry it is more about crowds of women looking and even arguing over dresses, that kind of looks like something from a Black Friday meet up.

Bridal trunk shows are a bit more intense but there are a lot of great deals for everyone.

Next is an add by Kleinfeld and something very typical they will do in bridal Trunk Shows is "meet the designer" and they always come up with very creative ways to get the customers to make a purchase while having champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.

#6 Video Fashion Show

This was one of the shows that truly inspired me to pursue a professional career in fashion.

Everything was perfect.

One of my favorite parts was the introduction with the Tree of Life and then supermodels came down the run was strutting in fairytale-inspired pieces while The Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky. 

Everything was in sync.

Another favorite part was when the music would calm and you could only hear tingles of sound here and there and then outta nowhere it would intensify and trigger your senses as you're staring at beautiful garments.

#5 Window Display in NYC

Hated looking like a tourist today

In other words, the cold, the crowds, the reflection on the glass did not help but I managed to get some flicks today.

I started my adventure on 7th Ave and made my way up to Herald Square and then went down to Soho.

My next Victim at least had clothes on, Barely. Regardless Express was on check with the Cold Shoulder and the Ruffles which are making a comeback this summer.

Next up we have Victoria's Secret with somehow of an off quote, maybe Thrice as Hot!

And then, I made my way to Soho, at least people try there. Floral prints and displays were allover the place, with some it worked and some others shouldn't have.

#4 Fashion Reporter's Language

"Oscars Red Carpet Review: Princesses and Sirens, on Parade" -Matthew Schneier

Starting from the get-go Matthew Schneier lays down the plan by describing the silhouettes as "their massive ball skirts"  hence princesses to "strut in dresses sleek, slinky often high-lit" regarding mermaids.

Some of the details he mentions are the "classic bow tie and studs" uncomfortable shoes which are a classic. He also mentions clutched evening bags, feathered dresses and white sequined dresses.

Gotta say my favorite part was reading about the colors, well the play on words. "An optimistic Oscar gold" as well as Black on Black, which is personally feel might be the wave. Also peachy  and flash of color seemed to pop out throughout the article.

 When it came to menswear he pointed out how "most men wisely embrace a policy of decorous restraint. A foray into navy from basic black was as far as many men dared" which I don't necessarily agree with. Mostly because I usually see the same boring Navy Blue or Black suit matched with white button down. Although it wasn't many some actors tried to switch it up this time, as did Mahershala Ali in black on black

#3 Shades of Blue

My favorite garment is the Jean Jacket.

I love the simplicity of it,

the dress-up or the dress-down, the clean fit or the

rugged/patched/destroyed, but most of all my favorite is the Denim on Denim. 

Through out last week I found myself being attentive whenever I saw a denim jacket, taking notes in 

my head about how it was styled.

 It was interesting to see how many individuals would take the Jean Jacket and incorporate their own style into it and how many others wore it just because it happened to be in their closet. 

Another interesting factor was how after all these decades of denim, blue is still the most popular color, although there were hints of red and pink denim in the streets of New York.
